The research programme SENSE-Cog aims at investigating the inter-relations between vision and/or hearing deficiencies and cognitive and mental health problems. The SENSE Cog Project has planned an afternoon of short talks by leading experts to outline how SENSE-Cog investigates the impact of hearing/vision and dementia and develops new tools to improve quality of life of older persons. We discuss challenges faced when caring for a person with dementia and how best to cope, and present support networks and professional help, to help care for the person with dementia.
