The NEUROAGE project began two new initiatives in 2020-2021 as part of the Healthy Mind campaign, which is currently funded by the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation under the name Neuroage-e. The Healthy Mind campaign began in the spring of 2020 aiming to provide screening for cognition, hearing, vision, mood and nutrition to large numbers of Cypriots. The screening offers a quick way to identify the first signs of conditions that affect brain health. Click here to learn about memory strategies and ways to combat aging from Professor Fofi Constantinidou’s presentation at Tamasio Elefthero Panepistimio. Our major PR event for the screenings was held on November 20, 2021. More than 500 individuals have been screened to date. The screenings can be in person or via the telephone. You can see video testimonials from our study participants here.

In parallel with our screening campaign, the project offers an integrative group intervention program to healthy older adults and to adults who experience mild difficulties in memory and other cognitive areas. The program offers important psychoeducational training and empowers participants to implement memory, problem-solving strategies and emotion regulation. Furthermore, it offers team building and social networking through in-person and/or  online meetings. The photos depict Antreas Chadjikyprianou, a doctoral researcher and special scientist at CAN and the NEUROAGE principal investigator, Fofi Constantinidou with one of our groups at the local park. Andreas’ dissertation explores the feasibility of this group intervention program in cognitively healthy older adults.
